I just put this up ...yup the Beatles are in Chez walTer's living room...waiting.

That said, here's the skinny so far:

Caveat... The game while assembled in my living room, has not been played. My wife is out of town and frankly would kill me if my daughter (who is 11 btw and cannot WAIT to sing Yellow Submarine) and I fired it up. The short amount of playtime consisted of the 2 of us yesterday and an impromptu concert at Best Buy...we were the only ones that knew how to even get the game going. We had a small crowd by the time we were done playing a 3 song set...lots of smiles and lots of ...WOW that is totally awesome. I agree.

My disappointment or really minor letdown was in the opening of the box. I guess for 200 dollars I expected something a bit more. Yeah the drums are nice, but really they are just white pads with the marbling design around the outsides. The Beatles bass drum sign while it looks pretty dang cool at a distance is... cheap?

Paul's bass...sure it is very nice looking but as soon as I put on the strap, more disappointment. Because the front strap hook is on the back of the unit, when you put it over your head, it falls forward. Not flat, not back but forward. I assume it is the only place they could put the hook but I really dislike the fact that it falls like it does.

I am ordering George's guitar so I have matching hardware, but really the one from the original RB2 is an awesome controller.

Now, I fully expect to love the game, download every album that comes out and may even get stuck playing story mode all the way through, but I just felt that twinge of "that's it" when I opened the box.
